Chapter 5

Webs of Deceit

A male voice can be heard singing in the park.

“People are strange when you’re a stranger
Faces look ugly when you’re alone
Women seem wicked when you’re unwanted
Streets are uneven when you’re down
When you’re strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you’re strange
No one remembers your name
When you’re strange….”

A handsome man can be seen sitting at a chess table. He doesn’t appear to be interested in the game. He appears to be more focused on a couple sitting having a picnic.

The couple is oblivious to this man, as they are enraptured in their conversation and in each other.

They are also unaware they are being watched by another.

She is hateful woman with no pity in her heart. Remorse, sadness, guilt are all emotions she has since given up for vengeance and hatred.
